Prairie View is seeking a compassionate, dependable Parent Support Specialist to support children and adolescents with Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED) and their families. This role focuses on strengthening families, coordinating care, and building long-term stability through community-based services.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide parent support and wraparound services to children with SED and their families
- Coach families to better understand and respond to their child’s emotional and behavioral needs
- Assist families in navigating services, resources, and the SED Waiver Program
- Support crisis intervention in collaboration with case managers and care teams
- Facilitate parent support groups in Harvey, Marion, and McPherson counties
- Assess family strengths, needs, and appropriate service levels
- Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, schools, and external providers
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical and administrative documentation
- Meet weekly billable service expectations (24 hours/week)
- Participate in training, supervision, and ongoing professional development
- Transport clients as needed (valid license and insurance required)
Qualifications
Minimum
Qualifications
- Age 21 or older
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience preferred
- At least 2 years of experience working with children
- Experience with emotionally disturbed children and families strongly preferred
- Strong communication, listening, and documentation skills
- Ability to recognize non-verbal behavior and emotional cues
- Comfortable working with families in home, school, and community settings
- Ability to maintain Kansas Case Manager Certification and required CEUs
- Valid Kansas driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Basic computer and word-processing skills
- Must pass KBI, DCF, and Central Registry background checks
