Job Description

The Parent Pathways Mentor plays a crucial role in supporting families by providing guidance and resources to enhance their engagement with community services. This part-time position, based in Rooty Hill, New South Wales, is designed for individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of parents and their children. As a mentor, you will facilitate connections and empower families to navigate available support systems effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring to parents, offering support and guidance tailored to their individual needs.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions to educate parents on available resources and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with local community organisations to enhance service delivery.
  • Assist parents in setting and achieving personal goals related to their family and community engagement.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress of families, providing feedback and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions and report on outcomes to management.

Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse families.
  • A genuine interest in supporting parents and children in the community.
  • Basic understanding of community services and resources available to families.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a mentoring, teaching, or support role is advantageous but not essential.
  • Flexibility to work part-time hours, including evenings or weekends as required.
