Description & Requirements

Being in our warehouses at Australia Post means keeping active, working with a supportive team, and knowing the work you do makes a real difference every day. It's essential work with plenty of variety, so no two days are ever quite the same. You'll be part of a stable, trusted organisation that values safety, respect and wellbeing. We look out for each other, create an environment where everyone feels supported, and encourage a healthy balance between work and life.

About the opportunity

As a Parcel Sorter, you’ll be based at a Mail & Parcel Processing Centre, supporting the preparation of mail so it’s ready for delivery the next day. Your work includes assisting with the processing of letters, parcels and Express Post items, sorting mail that can’t be machine‑processed and helping load and unload mail from bags, trays and containers.

You’ll work across modern processing equipment and systems, using load‑shifting tools such as hand pallet devices and stackers in close collaboration with your team to keep mail moving safely and efficiently through the facility.

This is a strong entry‑level opportunity to learn how large‑scale operations work, build practical skills and contribute to a trusted service that communities rely on. With a focus on safety, teamwork and reliability, the experience gained in this role can open pathways to future opportunities across processing, delivery and logistics.

About the role

  • 7 Month Fixed Term Contract | Full -time
  • Nightshift: 7:45pm - 3:36am
  • Sunday | 12:00pm 7:51pm - Rostered every third Sunday

About you

  • Flexible and willing to work extra hours when needed.
  • Detail‑focused, reliable and able to handle mail and parcels up to 16kg.
  • Communicate clearly, work proactively and support teammates in busy environments.
  • Experience with pallet jacks or stackers is helpful but not essential.

What else is in it for you?

  • Work with a diverse, supportive team where you have opportunities to connect over both work and social events.
  • Working hours that give you flexibility to make space for what's important to you, either before or after work.
  • Your safety and wellbeing are prioritised above everything else, so you go home the same way you came to work.
  • Opportunities for training, growth and development, with pathways across facilities, operations and other areas of the business.
  • Access to employee networks, mentoring and development programs that support career growth and help build connections across Australia Post.
  • A workplace where everyone belongs, with a strong commitment to inclusion, gender equity, pay transparency and creating opportunities for all employees to thrive.
  • Programs that support aspiring and established leaders, including initiatives such as our #NOW (Network Operations Women) and Women in PpeCS offering development opportunities, mentoring and professional networks.
  • Industry-leading parental leave, including up to 18 weeks' paid leave for primary carers, additional support for secondary carers, and flexible return-to-work arrangements.
  • Discounts and offers on lots of your favourite brands via Post Perks for more cash in your pocket, plus access to health, wellbeing and financial support resources.
