Genesee Intermediate School District (GISD) provides educational leadership that impacts instruction, learning, student achievement, productivity, and efficiency. GISD is an NCA-AdvancED accredited intermediate school district. Our mission describes a commitment to providing high quality programs and services, and includes standards that guide GISD's continuous improvement efforts.
GISD serves a region with nearly 66,000 students and 8,500 educators. Its primary service area consists of the 21 public school districts and 15 public school academies (charter schools) in Genesee County, Michigan. Other services extend to Lapeer, Shiawassee, and surrounding counties.
