Supports teachers by providing assistance with educational, behavioral, social-emotional, physical and daily living needs of preschool children with disabilities in an inclusive preschool setting.
NOTE: Position requires that the employee work in an inclusive preschool program such as an ECE 3-4 inclusive classroom.

What You'll Do:

Facilitates and supports accommodations and modifications specified on Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and teacher lesson plans

Prepares and sets-up educational materials for preschool children with and without disabilities

Discusses and coordinates instructional efforts with teachers and other educational staff; communicates and coordinates with students and parents about routine educational issues

Assists with conducting testing and assessment, multi-media activities, record-keeping, computer operation, discipline, and other activities as they pertain to working with preschool children with and without disabilities

Provides daily living procedures such as toileting, diapering, feeding, and personal hygiene as trained and directed; additional duties may include health support delegation such as g-tube feeding or catheterization

Lifts and transports students using appropriate equipment and lifting techniques

Supports embedded and direct learning opportunities during all daily activities in the preschool class schedule

Assists in maintaining high and low adaptive technology equipment

Monitors student activity in classrooms, hallways, lunchrooms, playgrounds and other locations as required or requested

Completes training programs and attends meetings as required
What You’ll Need:
- Minimum High School Diploma/GED - Must have a High School diploma/GED plus one of the following: Proof of passing the TABE D Adult Education Test for Reading and Math; minimum SAT scores (within the last 5 years) of 500 in Math and 470 in Reading; or transcript(s) verifying at least 48 semester hours of undergraduate coursework from an accredited college or university
- Lead for racial and educational excellence and work to dismantle systems of oppression and inequity in our community, along with believing in and supporting all students so they feel seen and heard with access to high quality education.
- Live and work with a permanent home address in Colorado while working with us.
- Have the ability with or without accommodations to meet the physical demands of the position.
Area of Relevant Expertise:
Experience modifying tasks and/or designing adaptations within job/community setting preferred
