Job Summary:
Cook County School District 130 is seeking a caring, collaborative, Spanish-bilingual paraprofessional to support students in our special education program at Nathan Hale Primary School. In this role, you will work alongside teachers to reinforce instruction, support students' individual learning and developmental needs, and help create a safe, welcoming, and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid Illinois Educator License with Stipulations for Paraprofessionals (ELS-Para).
- Fluency in Spanish, including the ability to speak, read, and write in Spanish.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues.
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach and the ability to follow oral and written directions.
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic, initiative, and sound judgment.
- A commitment to supporting students' learning, well-being, dignity, and individual needs.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Support the classroom teacher with instruction and student supervision during classroom and learning activities.
- Work with individual students and small groups to reinforce skills and strategies introduced by the teacher.
- Help prepare instructional materials and classroom activities.
- Support the implementation of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), including learning, behavior, and support strategies, under the direction of the special education teacher.
- Reinforce behavioral expectations and share relevant student observations or concerns with certified staff.
- Maintain student notes and other documentation as directed, while protecting student privacy and confidentiality.
- Participate in required school meetings and professional learning, and follow District policies, procedures, and safety expectations.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting pay of $19.79�$22.33 per hour, based on education.

Working Conditions:
