We are currently interviewing candidates for the 2026 - 2027 school year!

  • The hourly Special Education Paraprofessional pay rate to work on assignment with Susquenita School District is $17.00/hour.
  • 5 days of Paid Time Off (prorated based on hire date).
  • Employer paid clearances and TB screening!
  • The Special Education Paraprofessional will work 182 days following the academic calendar year.
  • Special Education Paraprofessionals may support students in one or more of the following areas: Autistic, Emotional, Learning, and Life Skills Supports.

OPENINGS FOR '26-'27 SCHOOL YEAR:

  • Susquenita Middle School:
    • Autistic Support Classroom, 7:30am - 2:30pm

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide assistance to students with special needs who have IEPs or 504 plans.
  • Reinforcing learning concepts and skills.
  • Working with students individually or in small groups.
  • Work with students on organizational skills, guide students in activities, monitor student progress.
  • Managing students behavior and ensuring a safe learning environment.
  • Supervising students during lunch, arrivals/dismissals, and other non-instructional areas.
  • Directly support students at the direction of classroom teacher and building Principal.

Requirements

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma required - Must pass for "highly qualified" as mandated by NCLB.
  • Two years post secondary education, or higher, preferred.
  • Prior public-school experience and/or working with school-aged children in a licensed, certified, or registered provider setting - preferred.

CREDENTIALING:

  • PA Child Abuse (Act 151) Clearance
  • PA Criminal (Act 34) Clearance
  • PA Department of Education FBI
  • TB Screening
  • Education Documentation - Diploma OR Official Transcripts
