Job Description

Fire & Safety Australia is seeking multiple experienced, AHPRA-registered Paramedics to support survey programs across its clients Pilbara sites. These roles combine remote medical support and response, field logistics, and culturally respectful care.

You’ll work alongside Traditional Owners and survey teams in rugged environments, delivering high-quality medical support and observations in a remote regional setting supporting teams of between 6 and 30 people on a given day.

This unique opportunity blends clinical, remote fieldwork and cultural engagement — ideal for paramedics who thrive outside the typical urban environment and have true remote standalone experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-hospital emergency response and Advanced Life Support (Level 1) when required

• Administer and interpret medical questionnaires to support fitness-for-work assessments.

• Monitor health and wellbeing of the field crew, including Elders and Traditional Owners

• Support initial response planning and contribute to survey logistics

• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using systems such as Cority

• Navigate rugged environments and assist with vehicle and equipment coordination

• Prepare, check and maintain medical equipment, consumable and medications

Desirable Qualifications:

• AHPRA Registered Paramedic with 3+ years on-road experience

• Physically fit and mentally prepared for remote field deployment

• Current Advanced Life Support Level 1 (ALS1)

• Strong situational awareness and ability to work independently

• Flexible to work 12-hour shifts, Primarily day shift, on an as rostered FIFO basis

• Flexibility with Roster with an approximate even time assignment.

• Previous experience with Traditional Owner communities, Pilbara-based work, or remote Indigenous healthcare

• Familiarity with RTIO systems, including:

Cority

RTIO-HSE clinical protocols and documentation standards

HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse Testing

• HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

• RIIVEH305F – Operate and Maintain a Four-Wheel Drive Vehicle

• Current Drivers Licence

• Cannulation competent

• Cert III in Response and Rescue (or elements of) Desirable

Working Environment:

• Deployments of up to 10 days in rugged, off-grid terrain or an 8:6 roster

• Pilbara based with flights Perth to Karratha then driving to regional sites.

• Involves extensive rugged bush walking, off-road driving, and working without access to regular facilities

• Collaborative work alongside Elders, Traditional Owners, and Heritage Advisors
