Education: High school diploma or equivalency. Completion of an accredited paramedic program.
Licensure/Certification: Must have current certification as a Paramedic in the State of Indiana and be a National Registry Paramedic. Must maintain training in ACLS, PALS, BLS. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must have a current, valid driver's license and a good driving record.
Experience: Experience is preferred. Job-specific training is provided through a preceptorship program of a minimum of 80 hours, or longer at the discretion of the Emergency Medical Services Director.
Mental/Physical Effort: Requires alertness and skill to recognize symptoms and good judgment to select proper treatment for unusual and/or unfavorable conditions. Requires resourcefulness in emergency situations and ability to make independent decisions in regard to patient care.Requires occasional periods of physical exertion and stamina to work effectively under adverse conditions. Requires use of appropriate body mechanics when lifting and transferring patients or equipment.
