POSITION PURPOSE
Delivers timely and effective critical care paramedic level emergency medical care to patients of all ages in both emergency and non-emergency situations, ensuring stabilization and/or resuscitation as needed due to illness or injury. Responds to ambulance calls, follows established system protocols and NIMS standards for scene management, and accurately document all care provided. When available, assists in the Emergency Department by performing advanced airway management, medication administration, and assists with delegated tasks such as assessments, vital signs, IV initiation, ECGs, and documentation, as well as decontamination, cleaning, and restocking of equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Rapidly assess patients and provide lifesaving care according to protocol

Provide direct patient care in pre-hospital and hospital settings withintheCritical CareParamedicscope of practice, includingthe administration ofapprovedmedications
Provideage-appropriatecare across neonate, infant, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations.
Transport & Operations
Operate ambulance safely; transport sick or injured persons while avoiding motions detrimental to patients.
Cover on-call hours andstaffspecial events as directed to meet departmental needs.
Assistwith scheduling, payroll, andtimekeeping, as needed.
Provide shift-to-shift leadership, resolve conflicts, andfacilitatesmooth operations
Vehicle & Equipment Maintenance
Perform daily/weekly vehicle and rig checks;maintain,restockand clean unit after eachrun
Manage EMS inventory;maintainpagers,radiosand other equipment; report discrepancies and maintenance needs.
Documentation & Quality
Complete patient care documentation after each call and in the Emergency Department as needed.
Participate in peer review and chart audits
Participate in quality monitoring, performance improvement, and evidence-basedpracticeinitiatives.
Ensure compliance withregulatoryrequirements andassistwithstate inspections.
Training & Education
Complete all required trainingandmaintaincompetencyin required skills,including departmental,site specific, andorganization-wideprograms
Maintain personal training logs and track continuing education hours (CEHs).
Assistin orientation of new EMTs,Advanced EMTs, Paramedics, and Critical Care Paramedics; provideeducation to staff and the public as requested.
Precept and mentorEMT,Advanced EMT, and Paramedicstudents.
Community Engagement
Maintain a professional public image;participatein public relations activities.
Support Community Paramedicine program tasks (e.g., medication reconciliation, brief home safety review, patient assessment, red flag education, follow-up coordination, and documentation).
Communication & Teamwork
Use radios and communication systems effectively
Collaborate withproviders,nursesand other healthcare professionals.
Ask for assistance when needed toensuresafety for all involved.
Safety & Infection Control
Attend required safety programs; consistently use personal protective equipment; follow departmental emergency procedures.
Maintain a safe working environment; report and remove unsafe equipment.
