What You Will Do:

As a Paramedic with Lee County EMS, you will function as both an advanced clinician and a team leader, responsible for patient care, crew supervision, and operational excellence.

  • Ensure consistent adherence to treatment guidelines and procedures

  • Train and mentor EMTs in proper charting techniques
  • Regularly review patient care reports and incident documentation
  • Vehicle & Equipment Readiness
  • Conduct routine inspections of emergency vehicles
  • Ensure all fluids, safety systems, and medical equipment are operational
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and mission-ready ambulance
  • Safe & Professional Driving

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

Experienced Paramedics Encouraged to Apply

Lee County EMS recognizes the value of experience. Paramedics with advanced skills, strong clinical judgment, and prior field experience may qualify for advanced placement opportunities.

  • Current State of Florida Paramedic license required at time of hire.
  • Candidates who currently hold a National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification may be considered, provided they are eligible for and able to obtain Florida Paramedic licensure prior to their start date.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certifications
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to complete a 16-hour Emergency Vehicle Operations Safety Course within 30 days of hire
  • Compliance with Chapter 64-J1 of the Florida Administrative Code and applicable Florida Statutes
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to lead a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • One or more years of experience as a Paramedic in a 911 emergency response transport system
  • Demonstrated proficiency in advanced life support procedures in prehospital environments
  • Prior experience supervising, mentoring, or providing guidance to EMTs
  • Strong history of accurate, timely, and professional patient care documentation
  • Proven ability to operate effectively within a team-based emergency services system

Supplemental information

Work Schedule & Overtime Opportunities

  • Shifts may include 8-, 12-, or 24-hour rotations
  • Includes weekends and holidays
  • Overtime opportunities are available and can significantly increase total annual earnings

This is a 24/7 position serving a 24/7 community. Providers who are motivated to work additional shifts have the opportunity to earn beyond base pay.

In addition to competitive base pay, overtime opportunities allow Paramedics to increase their overall income, and experienced providers are recognized with higher starting pay when applicable.
