Job Description

A national law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Defense Paralegal to support its Atlanta office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with experience supporting defense attorneys and working with insurance carriers in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support attorneys in the defense of workers’ compensation claims from inception through resolution
• Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, and legal correspondence in accordance with state requirements
• Manage a high-volume caseload, including calendaring deadlines and tracking critical dates
• Communicate regularly with insurance adjusters, clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel
• Coordinate and manage discovery, including medical records, subpoenas, and responses
• Prepare files and materials for hearings, mediations, and depositions
• Maintain accurate billing entries in compliance with client and carrier guidelines

Qualifications:

• 8+ years of workers’ compensation paralegal experience, preferably on the defense side
• Familiarity with insurance carriers and billing guidelines
• Strong understanding of state workers’ compensation rules, procedures, and e-filing systems
• Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and case management systems
• Paralegal certificate preferred
