Department Info

Our Legal and Compliance team protects Terumo's assets and people in EMEA, while enabling its goals and vision through expert support, proactive business partnering, and effective risk management. We are now looking for a Paralegal & Legal Operations Officer to support this motivated and engaged team.

As a key member of our EMEA Legal & Compliance team, you play a central role in ensuring solid legal entity governance, structured documentation, and smooth operational support across the region. Supporting 20 legal entities throughout EMEA, you act as a trusted paralegal partner, maintaining accurate corporate records, enabling consistent compliance, and safeguarding the quality and reliability of our legal processes.

While your primary focus is on paralegal responsibilities, you also take on targeted administrative and operational tasks that keep the team efficient, organized, and aligned. Your role requireshigh‑stakes communication with internal and external stakeholders, making clarity, accuracy, and professionalism essential.

With your proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, and ability to coordinate multiple legal matters simultaneously, you help the Legal & Compliance team protect and support Terumo’s business across EMEA, and ensure each entity operates with integrity and full compliance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage corporate housekeeping for all EMEA legal entities, ensuring accurate statutory records and timely jurisdictional filings

  • Prepare and maintain legal documentation, including board/shareholder resolutions, annual filings, director updates, and powers of attorney

  • Maintain legal databases, templates, entity overviews, and document libraries to ensure accurate and accessible records

  • Manage key governance documents such as the Signing Policy, and develop best practices for operational excellence

  • Support and administer the Contract Management System (CMS), including contract intake, workflow coordination, execution, filing, user support and reporting

  • Conduct legal research, document review, and fact-finding to support the Legal & Compliance team

  • Manage relationships with outside counsel, coordinating engagements and ensuring effective collaboration and service delivery

  • Oversee budgeting and billing, ensuring accuracy, cost control, and compliance with internal guidelines, SOX, and audit requirements

  • Prepare and coordinate internal reporting, including updates to EMEA management and headquarters in Japan

  • Manage SharePoint sites, policy libraries, and communication materials to support team organization and knowledge sharing

  • Provide targeted administrative support to the General Counsel EMEA, including meeting preparation, coordination and follow-up

Profile Description

  • Proven experience as a paralegal, legal assistant, or legal operations professional, with exposure to corporate housekeeping or entity management
  • Strong organizational skills and a meticulous approach to legal documentation
  • High level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize effectively
  • Flexibility and comfort working with multiple stakeholders in a matrix structure
  • Fluency inDutch and English (Dutch required for local documentation needs; English for the EMEA and global context)
  • Availability to work on-site for approximately 2.5 days per week (hybrid model)
