Are you a detail-driven legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-impact environment? Join our team as a Paralegal – Regulatory, where you will play a critical role supporting complex regulatory proceedings across multiple jurisdictions. This is an exciting opportunity to collaborate with experienced counsel and advisors, contribute to major energy infrastructure matters, and be at the centre of regulatory strategy, filings, and hearings that shape the industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Support counsel and regulatory advisors in preparing, coordinating, and filing applications, evidence, and responses before agencies such as the CER, AER, BCER, BCUC, FERC, and others.

  • Conduct legal and regulatory research, and review pleadings, correspondence, and materials related to regulatory proceedings.

  • Manage and maintain databases, records, and documentation, including tracking information requests, evidence, and regulatory deadlines.

  • Coordinate hearings end-to-end, including scheduling, logistics, materials preparation, witness coordination, and exhibit management.

  • Draft and distribute correspondence, affidavits, and regulatory documents, and coordinate service to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Liaise with project teams, external counsel, regulators, and interested parties, ensuring clear communication and timely progression of filings.

  • Support litigation processes and oversee the organization of large volumes of electronic and physical records.

Who You Are:

  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant Diploma or relevant experience.

  • 1-2 years’ experience with a law firm or large company (or equivalent experience).

  • Exceptional interpersonal, organization, communication (written and oral) and people skills are required.

  • Strong computer skills required (particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) and ability to quickly learn internal information management systems.

  • Highly motivated and positive attitude.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of, and experience with, regulatory processes would be an asset.

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy workloads at times, requiring production of accurate work on very short timelines.

  • Ability to multi-task effectively and prioritize work assignments.

  • Ability to maintain high degree of independence in the day-to-day performance of duties.

  • Ability to work on a team for larger or more complex assignments.

  • Fast-paced office and regulatory process environments.

  • Overtime required on a project-by-project basis with limited notification.
