Overview

BRMi is seeking a Paralegal to provide substantive legal and administrative support to the Office of General Counsel. This role supports a broad range of legal matters and works closely with attorneys, internal business partners, outside counsel, court officials, and other stakeholders.

The Paralegal will assist with legal matter intake and management, legal and factual research, workplace investigations, litigation support, document preparation, case tracking, and maintenance of legal records and systems. This position requires strong organization, sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage multiple complex and time-sensitive matters.

Salary: 50k-61k

Responsibilities

• Manage the intake of legal matters and provide an initial analysis of potential organizational impact.
• Provide prompt, concise, and comprehensive responses to legal and business communications.
• Manage high-volume and complex legal matters and prepare counsel for upcoming calls, meetings, and deadlines.
• Proactively monitor legal matters and prepare written summaries, case status reports, and case calendars.
• Exercise sound judgment and independently resolve issues while escalating matters when appropriate.
• Serve as a liaison with outside counsel, internal clients, court officials, and other relevant contacts.
• Support workplace investigations by coordinating with internal clients to collect, review, organize, and summarize information and documentation.
• Proofread, organize, and maintain legal documents, business communications, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Conduct factual and legal research in support of legal matters.
• Assist with fact investigations and preparation for depositions, hearings, and trials.
• Draft business communications, reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Maintain legal libraries, databases, electronic document management systems, and related records.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
• Experience providing paralegal or substantive legal support within a law firm, corporate legal department, government organization, or similar environment.
• Experience managing multiple legal matters, deadlines, case calendars, and documentation simultaneously.
• Experience conducting factual and legal research and summarizing findings for attorneys.
• Experience supporting litigation, investigations, depositions, hearings, or trial preparation.
• Strong legal writing, proofreading, editing, and document preparation skills.
• Experience working with legal document management systems, databases, and electronic records.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage a high volume of complex and time-sensitive work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and appropriately escalate sensitive matters.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, internal clients, outside counsel, and other stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and related business productivity tools.
