As a Paralegal, Finance Legal, you will play a critical role in supporting CarMax Auto Finance (CAF) as part of the Credit Services Legal Team. This position focuses on consumer credit compliance, dispute resolution, and regulatory affairs, ensuring CarMax operates with integrity and transparency. You will assist attorneys with compliance management, legislative monitoring, research, and contract administration, while serving as a trusted liaison between internal teams and external agencies. Team Overview

The Credit Services Legal Team partners closely with CarMax Auto Finance to ensure compliance with consumer credit regulations and support business operations. As a Paralegal, you will collaborate with attorneys and internal departments to manage legal processes, monitor legislation, and provide accurate, timely research and documentation. This team values precision, collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.

Work Location and Arrangement This role will be based out of the CarMax Auto Finance office (Kennesaw, GA)Associateswillworkonsite4days per week.

Work Authorization:  Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Support compliance management activities, ensuring adherence to consumer credit regulations.
  • Manage dispute filings, working directly with customers and regulatory agencies under attorney guidance.
  • Monitor and analyze pending legislation, prepare monthly tracking reports, and identify business impacts.
  • Conduct legal and factual research, compile findings, and document conclusions for attorney review.
  • Communicate routine legal information to internal stakeholders as directed by attorneys.
  • Serve as liaison with internal teams and external agencies, coordinating litigation management and regulatory filings.
  • Assist in drafting legal documents and maintaining vendor or contract records as directed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma.
  • Proficiency in MS Word and Excel with basic to moderate computer skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent research, analytical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and maintain ethical standards.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree and paralegal certificate.
