The Paralegal supports the bankruptcy and litigation attorneys with legal support. This position maintains the case files, monitors project assistants and law clerks, assists attorneys in trials, and reviews document productions. The Paralegal works under general supervision and relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Draft shell/non-substantive notices, motions, affidavits, orders, briefs and other court filings based on past precedent
  • Prepare bankruptcy petitions
  • Research, gather and summarize cases utilizing Firm research databases and verify citations including Shepardizing
  • Monitor dockets for relevant pleadings and conducting docket searches-pull and organize docket filings
  • Prepare fee applications for monthly filings
  • Assist attorneys with trial preparations, including organizing exhibits and preparing hearing binders
  • File documents with the court
  • File proofs of claim on behalf of the Firm in bankruptcy cases
  • Maintain case/correspondence files and service lists

Job Specifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate
  • At least two (2) years of related work experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours
  • Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
