The in-house Paralegal supports Pike’s legal, corporate, and licensing departments with a broad range of matters. The role works directly with in-house counsel and collaborates with project management, procurement, operations, HR, and finance teams. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and experienced in a fast-paced legal environment. Experience in the construction industry and/or with handling third-party auto and property claims, workers’ compensation claims, and insurance matters are a plus. The role will also support a variety of administrative duties.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support legal department in overseeing and assisting with litigation discovery process, claims and litigations reports and monitoring, reviewing loss runs, and large loss and erosion tracking.
  • Research licensing regulations, compile licensing applications, monitor deadlines for compliance.
  • Review and redline subcontractor and client contracts to support legal department and bid review teams.
  • Assist with organization of contracts database.
  • Organize and maintain licensing database.
  • General administrative support, including but not limited to, data entry, phone support, meeting notices, webinars, etc.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Business Administration; or

  • Five years of prior work experience in a law firm or corporate law department
  • Paralegal certification required
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Power Point
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized

  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated

  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on capacity.

  • Prepare correspondence, memos, and other confidential communications

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2 or 4-year degree
  • Paralegal certification
  • 5 years’ experience with client and/or supplier/subcontractor contracts.
  • Proficient in contract standards and terminology.
