OF THE JOB:
Office of General Counsel seeks to add an experienced paralegal to our team to provide in-house legal support to the areas with a primary focus on subpoena processing and other enterprise activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Manage the intake, review, and response to legal requests such as subpoenas and investigative demands. Ensure legal compliance, coordinate records retrieval, and protect business interests by evaluating the validity of court orders under attorney supervision.
• Conduct legal research.
• Draft legal correspondence
• Review conveyance and other closing documents for bank owned or leased properties.
• Maintain office document retention system for the Office of General Counsel
• Participate in the development and maintenance of copyrights and patents;
• Manage and triage requests submitted through the Legal portal, ensuring timely assignment, tracking, and resolution of tickets
• Process legal invoices, including review, coding, and submission for payment; coordinate with vendors and outside counsel to resolve billing inquiries and
• Prepare, track, and submit required legal and regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines, including the filing of entity related annual reports.
• Other duties as determined by members of Office of General Counsel.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Associate degree in relevant discipline, paralegal certificate, or BA
• A minimum of 4+ years of corporate paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house setting
• Strong analytical interpretation, communication, and multi-tasking skills
• Able to reprioritize dynamically, and grow skill set to meet evolving business needs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Understanding of legal language and principles, research methods, court pleadings and processes, and other related matters
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
• Assertive, self-motivated, and results oriented; and
• Notary Public preferred.
