The Paralegal is responsible for supporting multiple attorneys in the Firm and is expected to have a high degree of responsibility for project management and implementation.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
- Handle state and federal court filings to ensure timely and accurate submission of documents and exhibits. Monitor filing deadlines and maintain accurate filing records
- Draft documents, file motions, and prepare letters and correspondence
- Communicate with clients, experts, court staff, and others to gather information, provide updates, and respond to inquiries
- Keep progression of case on track in preparation for trials, hearings and depositions
- Draft, edit, and maintain witness and exhibit lists
- Monitor and review procedural rules of court, and manage the implementation of procedural rules for all filings
- Assist attorneys in daily case management
- Interact with other paralegals to assist with heavy workload or coverage
- Prepare, review, edit, proofread and file a variety of documents
- Prepare tables of contents and indexes for court filings
- Review, cull and summarize document production, and prepare organized indexes and filing systems for documents
- Prepare documents and exhibits for discovery production and court filings, incorporate redactions and bates labels
- Organize and maintain case files, attorney notebooks, databases, spreadsheets and other materials
- Develop, respond or object to interrogatories or request to admit and summarize interrogatories and admissions received
- Draft and edit pleadings; including reviewing and answering complaints, counterclaims and third-party complaints, motions to dismiss or strike jurisdictional motions and research for pleadings
- Administratively support firm business development, if needed

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Associate’s degree in paralegal or legal studies or other related discipline is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of legal experience required, and 4+ years in legal experience preferred.
Computer Skills: Skilled with MS Office Suite and other office products.
Certificates & Licenses: Paralegal certification from ABA-approves program is preferred.
Other Requirements: Excellent problem-solving skills and willingness to conduct research to learn new tasks. Strong organizational skills to maintain work lists, organize documents, and monitor deadlines and filings. Ability to ask questions, clarify issues, and provide project updates as needed. Excellent written and oral communication skills (comprehension & expression). Strong command of the English language, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form and style. Detail-oriented and ability to create, compose, proof and edit correspondence. Possess sense of initiative and responsibility to manage case load and maintain confidentiality of records and information. Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressured environment and maintain case/trial deadlines.

Work environment is in a professional office setting. The majority of activity this role performs will be sedentary work.
