Job Description

SGI is seeking a Paralegal to provide litigation support services at the United States Attorney's Office (USAO), Civil Division, in Denver, Colorado. The Paralegal will support Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs) in defending the federal government in civil cases filed in the District of Colorado. Responsibilities include case organization, legal research, document review, and preparation of litigation materials. The position supports daily legal operations within the USAO and provides direct assistance in managing civil litigation matters.

Job Duties

  • Review and organize large quantities of emails and other documents
  • Create and maintain spreadsheets and databases to track case information
  • Gather factual information and materials, including agency records, court records, and public records
  • Read, analyze, and summarize legal and factual materials such as pleadings, court orders, transcripts, and case files
  • Draft memoranda and other written work products as needed
  • Coordinate with federal agencies to locate and organize information and ensure compliance with court orders
  • Perform factual and legal research and prepare written summaries
  • Provide automated litigation support for briefs, presentations, and hearings
  • Prepare documents, exhibits, charts, and other visual materials
  • Provide technical support such as scanning, enlarging charts and photographs, duplicating media, and marking exhibits
  • Assist attorneys during hearings and case preparation as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Relevant work experience supporting legal or litigation activities
  • Strong writing, organizational, and computer skills
  • High level of attention to detail and strong work ethic
  • Experience reviewing large volumes of documents is preferred
  • US Citizen
