Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented corporate Paralegal to support VP Corporate Legal and the Corporate Legal Team and other Legal teams as agreed for Fortum in Espoo.

About the role

This role provides critical assistance with corporate governance, contract management, regulatory compliance, and day-to-day legal operations to VP Corporate Legal and the Corporate Legal Team and other Legal teams as agreed. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and experienced paralegal who can handle multiple priorities with minimal supervision, has excellent organizational skills, maintains confidentiality, and works efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist on MAR reporting requirements
  • Support the administration and maintain of the insider management portal and insider related registers
  • Support implementation and maintenance of legal technology and other digital tools
  • Support due diligence activities for corporate transactions, including setting up and managing data rooms
  • Support the administration of the Boardvantage or similar board management portal
  • Support the administration of the whistleblowing channels as needed
  • Assist on responding to external Know Your Company (KYC) requests as needed
  • Assist on drafting and maintaining governance statements and various compliance and policy documents
  • Manage department calendars, deadlines, and workflows and arranges meetings and events
  • Coordinate and support filings with regulatory authorities
  • Assist with budget tracking, invoice review, and legal spend management

About you

You are an experienced paralegal with strong corporate and governance knowledge. You are confident in complex, fast paced environments and able to solve complex and critical administrative matters independently. You are a highly organized, proactive and reliable and solution orientated.

What we’re looking for:

  • Minimum 4+ years in inhouse paralegal role with stock listed company experience
  • Degree that supports in the position
  • Knowledge of corporate governance principles and trade register processes
  • Familiarity with contract management, KYC compliance, and MAR regulations and the respective reporting obligations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Finnish
  • Experience in working with multinational companies
  • Highly advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) as well as other tools and systems e.g. board management portals, insider management tools
