Chamberlain Deaf/Hard of Hearing invites interested candidates to apply for the Paraeducator � Deaf/Hard of Hearing position.

About the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (D/HH) Program:

The D/HH program at Chamberlain Elementary school for K-5 students:

• Promotes D/HH peer engagement
• Universal Design embedded into physical environment

Centralized D/HH services include:

• Teacher of D/HH (TOD/HH)
• Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)/Aural Habilitation
• Auditory Testing Booth

The D/HH paraeducator works under the supervision of the TOD/HH and SLP, to provide specialized support to students who are D/HH. The paraeducator should be trained or will be trained in equipment use, as well as ASL and/or other pertinent strategies required for communication with the D/HH population. Paraeducators also provide support to D/HH students at other schools, districtwide, PreK - 12, as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

• A minimum of 60 college credits, or
• A passing score on the ParaPro Assessment

Salary

• Starting Salary: $21.70 per hour
