OVERVIEW:

Team Leadership & Enterprise Partnership:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Planning, Allocation, and Replenishment teams, partnering with separately managed eCommerce planning colleagues.
  • Proactively establish priorities, own category performance, and oversee day-to-day execution across teams with varying levels of expertise without waiting for direction.
  • Promote innovative problem-solving and support the adoption of organizational change.
  • Serve as a close partner to merchandising leadership, aligning inventory and financial strategies and taking ownership of cross-functional decisions and senior-level vendor meeting materials as needed across a broad vendor portfolio.
  • Prioritize improvements to business reporting and planning processes as the division evolves, including adapting to business transitions and new initiatives; partner on enterprise-wide process and technology improvements that increase sales, profitability, and inventory productivity.

Financial Planning & Leadership:

  • Lead pre-season and in-season financial planning using historical performance and emerging business trends, with a strong emphasis on short-cycle, in-season decisions in a sports-driven business.
  • Deliver item-assortment, vendor, ladder, and financial plans that support merchandising priorities.
  • Manage open-to-buy and weekly forecasting to maintain fiscal discipline throughout the buying cycle.
  • Translate reporting, analysis, and current and future trends into timely decisions and actionable recommendations for merchandising and senior leadership, moving beyond business recaps to drive execution.
  • Support SKU-reduction, key-item intensification, comparable-sales growth, and priority-store in-stock strategies while aligning inventory and financial plans with ambitious growth priorities.

Inventory & Allocation:

  • Maintain appropriate inventory by store and channel to achieve sales, margin, turn, and in-stock goals.
  • Develop allocation and replenishment strategies reflecting regional, seasonal, and new-store needs, with rapid adjustments for team performance, postseason opportunities, and hot-market demand.
  • Monitor new-store performance and coordinate corrective inventory actions with field and support teams.
  • Partner with Buyers, Planners, distribution centers, and Supply Chain to optimize product flow and rebalance inventory.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory productivity across store segments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years business experience (Retail buying, planning, and allocations preferred)
  • Candidates with other applicable experience may also be considered
