University of Colorado AnschutzDepartment: Medicine, Division of General Internal MedicineJob Title: Palliative Care Education Adjoint InstructorPosition #00850300 – Requisition #41155Job Summary:The Palliative Care (PC) Education Program is seeking an Adjoint Instructor to teach “Values in Practice” modules in the program’s online learning platform. The PC Education Program prepares providers—physicians, nurses (including BSN and advanced practice nurses), physician assistants, pharmacists, social workers, spiritual care providers, psychologists, therapists, counselors and ethicists—to be Palliative Care Community Specialists (PCCS). Palliative Care Community Specialists (PCCS) provide high-quality palliative consultation and care to patients and families in their own communities, giving them the choice of treatment outside an academic tertiary medical center. The PC Education Program is online and is based at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in the Division of General Internal Medicine. The PC Education program collaborates with the University of Colorado Community Hospice and Palliative Medicine (CHPM) Fellowship for physicians who wish to become board-certified practitioners in palliative care and hospice.Key Responsibilities:Assure values in practice modules meet standards, are current, robust and evidence-basedTeach accountability, model respectful communication, and work closely with faculty and students to ensure their academic progression;Teach values in practice modules in the PC Education program, including self-care 101, integrity in practice, trauma, burnout, boundaries, moral courage, flexibility, collective grief, widening your window, integrity in practiceMentor students as needed.Work Location:Remote – This role is eligible to work remotely, but the employee must be in the United States.Why Join Us:The Division of General Internal Medicine (GIM), established at the University of Colorado Anschutz in 1977, was one of the first GIM divisions established within the United States. These programs, when taken together, provide a wide breadth and depth of clinical experiences that allows our trainees to experience virtually all aspects of inpatient and ambulatory medical care.Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications:Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.JD, PhD or similar terminal degreeTraining/experience in scholarly projects3 years of teaching/educational facilitation experiencePreferred Qualifications:Previous teaching/instructor experience and/or public speaking/presenting;Experience with online communication platforms including Zoom, Teams;Experience with curriculum development/education materials development;Experience using Canvas/other educational platforms and online teaching;Experience with Microsoft Office (ie. Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc);Experience with data analysis procedures using Excel, SPSS, or R;Experience using APA and AMA referencing of citationsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally;Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, students, and others at all levels throughout the institution;Outstanding customer service skills;Expert ability to work in a team environment, develop effective interpersonal relationships, provide polite persistence when needed, provide superior customer service, and communicate well verbally and in writing;Expert knowledge of word processing and track changes;Strong knowledge of spelling, punctuation and grammar.Condition of Employment:
