Location: 1107 Burt Street, Shreveport, LA

Wage Category: Non-Exempt

Report To: Production Supervisor

The Palletizer is responsible for ensuring that all finished products are properly inspected, packaged, and prepared for shipment or warehouse storage. This role plays a critical part in maintaining product quality and production flow by identifying defects, organizing finished goods, and operating palletizing equipment.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Product Inspection and Quality Control

  • Inspect pallets for damaged products or packaging and remove defective items.
  • Check the bottom of every five boxes to ensure proper gluing and product integrity.
  • Ensure the correct pallet type is used and that cases are stacked to meet required specifications.

Packaging and Equipment Operation

  • Place box lids on completed product boxes.
  • Use the Stapper machine to apply box straps securely.
  • Advance boxed products down the conveyor line.
  • Monitor the production line to ensure pallets are loaded and stacked correctly, addressing issues as they arise.
  • Assist with routine cleaning and maintenance of palletizing equipment as needed.

Material Handling and Pallet Organization

  • Stack inspected boxes onto pallets for shipping or warehouse storage.
  • Arrange cases on pallets in the correct order and configuration based on production requirements.

Documentation and Communication

  • Record production information such as pallet counts, downtime, and other relevant data.
  • Communicate promptly with team members and supervisors regarding equipment concerns, production delays, or quality issues.

Safety and Workplace Standards

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workstation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and regulations while operating machinery.
  • Meet or exceed departmental productivity and quality expectations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is helpful but not required.
  • Ability to use a strapping tool and tape dispenser.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform heavy lifting.
  • Must be legally blind.
