Wood is currently recruiting for a Painting and Insulation Supervisor to join the team for an immediate start, supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client project in Chonburi, Thailand This role is offered as an initial 12-month contract with the opportunity to continue as an ongoing, longer-term assignment and available for Thai National.

Reporting to the QA/QC Manager, your immediate focus will be supporting the supporting construction activities on a major EPCM project for a key client. You will bring to life Woods' three-pillar strategy of Inspired Culture, Delivery Excellence and Profitable Growth on the project. Leading by example, you will consistently display and enforce Wood values and behaviour and commitment to the highest standards of safe and ethical behaviour to ensure safe, reliable operations and client satisfaction.

You will thrive on the challenge of balancing technical, team, client, and project leadership in this key site-based role with your focus on relationships and delivery, enabling you to anticipate project needs beyond the immediate scope. You will drive technical excellence and assurance on the painting and insulation portion while working in close partnership with other disciplines and the client, to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and project.

In addition, you will:

  • Prior to start of painting and insulation activities ensure that all procedures and material data sheets for compliance with project specifications and practical site operational requirements are reviewed
  • Ensure all quality control checks and tests are instigated, with records maintained and available as required for surface preparation, dry film thickness checks, adhesion test, temperature and humidity levels etc., all in accordance with contractors’ agreed ITP, method statements and project specifications. Where applicable supervise paint shop activities
  • Ensure all approved modifications and corrections to the Piping Line List paint and insulation codes are recorded on red - lined ‘as - built’ Line Lists verified as correct by field personnel
  • Vocation, Diploma, or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or related field
  • Minimum 10 years experienced of working in Live Plant, Greenfield and Turnaround / Revamp work for Oil & gas, Refinery, Petrochemical, Power Plant, or others similar type of plants
  • Extensive track record managing Painting / Insulation Construction activities within Oil & Gas or Petrochemical sector
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Considerable experience of supervising Construction staff to achieve effective construction execution
  • Excellent written / verbal communication skills
  • Good coordination with all disciplines
