Summary

Operates a spray painter to apply industrial paint finishes to metal products.

Responsibilities

• Requires training in the operation of paint and blasting processes and the mixing of various paints & provides paint back up when needed.
• Reads job information and locates correct tools and materials.
• Moves parts into the proper location to prepare the parts for paint.
• Cleans parts with wire brush & solvent.
• Applies masking tape & rubber plugs to the areas that are not to be painted.
• Helps the painter using hooks, eyebolts & the crane to move the parts into &out of the paint booth.
• Inspects the parts to ensure they meet our quality specifications.
• Places parts on a rack or skid to dry &moved to the next operation.
• Handles physical disposal of hazardous waste in accordance with company policies

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Experience working in a Manufacturing Environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Understand plant safety guidelines and pass all required safety training
• Must be able to understand verbal and written instructions
• Troubleshoot problems and report issues
• Must work well in team environment

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to be on feet up to 8-12 hours per shift
• Use of hands and fingers to perform job function
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend and climb
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
