Painter / Decorator

HMP Liverpool (L9 3DF)
£28,792 – £33,532 + 15% weekend allowance
39 hours per week

Shift pattern:

• Mon–Thu: 07:45–16:45
• Fri–Sun: 07:45–15:45
• 1 in 4 weekends (paid at +15%)

What’s the job?

You’ll be carrying out planned and reactive painting/decorating across the prison.
This is a steady, on-site role – no travelling site to site.

You’ll also:

• Prep and paint cells, landings, offices and communal areas
• Look after your tools and materials
• Work safely at all times (H&S is key)
• Support and guide prisoners on basic decorating tasks

What you need

• NVQ Level 2 Painting & Decorating is an essential minimum qualification
• Solid background in painting/decorating work
• Comfortable working in a prison environment, alongside and supervising work of prisoners
• Good understanding of H&S and safe systems of work
