About The Role
Complete final painting process including but not limited to applying primer and topcoat paint with the use of electrostatic equipment to trailer surfaces and the ability to lead and train others in these processes
Responsibilities
Ensure surface preparation specifications on trailers is met prior to paint process.
Follows supervisor/assistant supervisor’s instructions.
Applies primer and topcoat to trailers within quality standards.
Use of Mil Guage to verify proper paint thickness.
Properly repair paint defects on trailers
Maintains Paint vault
Inspects own work and trainee’s work
Operate overhead crane when needed.
Is familiar with all equipment used and is responsible for routine maintenance and upkeep.
Monitor supplies needed in area and updates supervisor as necessary.
Handle, store and properly dispose of all hazardous materials. Successfully complete all annual training requirements.
Follow standard work and procedures.
Must adhere to all safety standards set by the company.
Must help identify waste in process or procedure to increase efficiency.
Assume additional responsibilities as needed when not painting.
Candidate Requirements
1-2 years’ experience in applying paint by use of electrostatic paint equipment preferred. Must possess good verbal communication skills and ability to work with others. Must display a positive attitude and work ethic.

Physical demands While performing duties of job, employee is required to stand; walk; sit; climb; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. At times, use ladders to work at heights of up to 12 feet.
Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust, fumes and is near moving machinery.
