About the role
Responsible for carrying out painting and decorating works within both occupied and void properties, ensuring homes are maintained to a safe, clean, and attractive standard. Every day will be different as you work across a variety of residential properties, completing both internal and external decorating projects while delivering a professional service to our residents.
What you’ll be doing
You'll be involved in all aspects of surface preparation, including sanding, filling, wallpaper stripping, repairing damaged surfaces, and applying primers and undercoats to create high-quality finishes. Using your expertise, you'll apply a range of decorative coatings including emulsion, gloss, satinwood, masonry paints, and specialist finishes, ensuring all work meets our quality standards and client expectations.
Undertake painting and decorating works within occupied and vacant social housing properties
Complete minor repairs to walls, ceilings, woodwork, and other surfaces as required prior to decoration
Ensure all works are completed in accordance with quality standards, specifications, and timescales
Working independently and as part of a wider maintenance team, you'll take ownership of your jobs from start to finish, completing minor repairs where required and ensuring work areas are left clean, safe, and tidy. You'll also identify and report any additional repair needs, helping us deliver a proactive and efficient service to our customers.
What we’re looking for
Customer service is at the heart of what we do, so we're looking for someone who is confident interacting with residents, communicates professionally, and understands the importance of working respectfully within people's homes. You’ll also be comfortable using handheld devices to record work completed and update job information while ensuring all health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
NVQ Level 2 qualification in Painting & Decorating, or equivalent (preferred but not essential)
Full UK driving licence (preferred but not essential)
Additionally, you will have proven experience as a Painter & Decorator, ideally within social housing, residential maintenance, facilities management, or a property maintenance environment. A strong understanding of painting techniques, materials, surface preparation methods, and safe working practices is essential, along with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to delivering work to a high standard.
