POSITION PROFILE

Responsible for mixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projects. while ensuring quality service, guest satisfaction and the achievement/maintenance of company standards.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Applies paint to surfaces including canvas, walls, floors, doors, and cabinets.
  • Mixes, matches, and applies paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes.
  • Cleans walls to ensure proper adherence and scrapes, sandpapers, primes, or seals surfaces prior to painting.
  • Fills cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives.
  • Erects scaffolding, movable and immovable staging and various rigging to gain access to difficult areas; moves furniture and equipment as necessary.
  • Removes fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting.
  • Calculates amounts of required materials and estimates costs.
  • Cleans up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns.
  • Utilizes spray guns for large jobs.
  • Works on ladders to reach high ceilings or walls.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned
  • Utilizes Safety Data Sheets to identify chemical characteristics.
  • Completes Work Orders daily and accurately.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Experience and knowledge of painting and construction
  • High school education or equivalent experience. Trade or Technical School experience helpful

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds or more), walk and stand on uneven terrain for long periods, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
