Job Location: Westfalia Technologies - York, PA 17406Westfalia Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Painter to join our growing Production team! The Painter is responsible for applying powder coating finishes to steel parts and accessories used in pallet, bag handling, case, and bottling equipment. This role ensures all components meet quality, safety, and production standards.
Location Requirements: Must live within a 50-mile radius of Westfalia Technologies Inc Headquarters and within PA or MD.
Essential Job Functions:
- Apply powder coating and bake components to produce a high-quality finish across various equipment parts.
- Tag and label coated components for tracking throughout the production process.
- Complete all required paperwork and documentation daily.
- Perform quality-control checks to ensure proper coverage, adhesion, and finish consistency.
- Operate forklifts and overhead cranes as needed to move materials safely.
- Maintain necessary material supplies and notify the Shop Foreman when replenishment is required.
- Assist other departments or team members as needed to support workflow.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Skills and Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of powder coating processes, materials, and equipment
- Ability to identify surface defects and determine appropriate surface preparation methods
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate industrial tools and equipment
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to meet production schedules while maintaining quality standards
Desired Skills:
- Valid forklift operator certification
- Experience operating overhead cranes up to 10 tons
- Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
Education and
Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- 1+ years of powder coating experience on conveyors or similar industrial components preferred
- Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and quality standards
- Ability to work overtime as needed
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and stoop for extended periods throughout the workday
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other shop equipment
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, equipment, and coated components
- Ability to tolerate exposure to heat associated with powder coating and curing processes
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators, gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses
Travel Requirements:
- Minimal travel required (0–5%)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (4x10 schedule)
Overtime: Friday + Saturday overtime available as needed
Work Authorization: Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
