ASRC Federal Communications is seeking a Painter for our ISS2 contract, which supports our Air Force customer. This position is located at Wake Island Air Station.
While on-site, employees follow a schedule where they work three months on shift at a time and have one month off at Wake Island Air Station (WIA). The company provides housing in a dormitory facility. The cafeteria provides all meals.
General Summary
The Painter performs general painting and assorted duties necessary to maintain, repair, or upgrade all facilities, structures, equipment, parts, and tools. This position is responsible for the maintenance of painting equipment and tools required to perform such work. The Painter regularly apprises the supervisor of unique situations and problems encountered. This position completes assigned work orders and recurring maintenance tasks, as well as completes the required administrative duties of tracking and reporting work performed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Perform various painting and related functions.
• Paint and redecorate interior or exterior walls, various materials, trim, doors, cabinets, and fixtures.
• Perform corrosion control on interior and exterior surfaces, such as, but not limited to, pipelines, above-ground storage tanks, airfield markings, and associated hardware.
• Prepare surfaces for paint or similar products by approved methods and techniques commonly used for removing old finishes or placing putty or filler in nail holes and crevices.
• Cover surfaces with cloth, plastic, or other material to protect surfaces, furniture, or equipment from paint and paint overspray. Tape and mask windows, trim, etc., as necessary.
• Apply paint or similar products with brushes, rollers, spray guns, paint machines or other methods as required by environmental regulatory compliance, company management plans, federal and state law, and customer requirements.
• Assist other trades in their day-to-day operations when needed.
• Ensure proper housekeeping practices are observed.
• Serve as an Emergency Response Team (ERT) member as required.
• Perform related work as needed and assigned.
Accountable For:
• Common safety practices and protective equipment are used on a construction site.
• Surface peculiarities and types of paint required for different applications.
• Proficiency using hand and power tools commonly used in the construction trade.
• Understanding and following directions.
• Communicating effectively orally and in writing.
• Performing duties in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Working cooperatively and safely with others on joint projects.
• Climbing stepladders, extension ladders, scaffolding, and elevated platforms.
• Working from manlifts.
• Administrative duties are associated with work accountability.

Minimum Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two (2) years of journeyman painter experience.
• Two (2) years' experience with exterior and interior painting.
• Current, or ability to attain a Paint Handler's Certification.
• Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Attain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries background investigation.
• U.S. citizen.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check, physical, fingerprints and drug test successfully.
