The Paint Line Technician is responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting paint line equipment to ensure consistent production quality and efficiency. This role requires hands-on experience with automated paint systems, surface preparation, and paint application processes in a plastics manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor automated and manual paint line equipment.
• Ensure proper surface preparation and adhesion of paint on molded plastic parts (blow mold and injection mold).
• Mix and prepare paint materials according to specifications.
• Perform paint line adjustments for optimal coverage, color accuracy, and finish quality.
• Conduct routine inspections and quality checks of painted components.
• Troubleshoot paint application, equipment, and process issues to minimize downtime.
• Assist with maintenance and cleaning of spray booths, robots, conveyors, and curing ovens.
• Follow all safety and environmental procedures, including proper handling of paints and solvents.
• Document production data, paint usage, and maintenance activities.
• Support continuous improvement and 5S initiatives in the paint and assembly departments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a paint line or finishing role in a manufacturing setting.
• Knowledge of paint application processes, including electrostatic or robotic painting.
• Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read work instructions, safety procedures, and quality specifications.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
• Experience in plastic manufacturing (blow molding or injection molding) is a plus but not required.
• Forklift certification or material handling experience a plus but not required
• Understanding of lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
