Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Direct, and optimize paint fixtures, jigs, and robotic paint programs, including complex applications
  • Redesign, repair, replace, and maintain paint equipment, tooling, jigs, robotic programs, and production control hardware
  • Develop paint processes, methods, robot programs, fool-proofing systems, and production controls for new programs
  • Supervise the assembly, setup, and proofing of new paint tooling and equipment
  • Set up new paint and peripheral equipment, ensure proper operation, and train associates on correct use
  • Create and maintain operating procedures for new and existing equipment (JIS / WGS / MSOS)
  • Investigate and evaluate new painting technologies and recommend improvements when feasible
  • Apply TPS principles to improve cycle time, material inventory, and process flow
  • Ensure all problem-tracking documentation is completed for new and existing products

Requirements

Strong understanding of paint application principles, paint and thinner properties

Experience with robot programming and automated paint systems (ABB software preferred)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

Ability to integrate existing processes with innovative solutions in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation of technical and numerical data
