The Paid Social Director is the senior local leader for paid social excellence, strategic maturity, and enterprise client impact.
This role positions paid social as a strategic growth driver. You are the senior expert brought into complex, high-value situations to cement the agency's position as a business-critical partner. Acting as the local connective tissue between client teams, platform partners, commercial owners, and the global function, you play a vital role in winning new business, expanding enterprise accounts, and elevating strategic clarity. Rather than managing people, you lead direction, standards, and agency capability—raising the level of paid social across pitches, partnerships, and team confidence.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING 💼
Ensuring strategic client leadership and business impact for key enterprise clients, driving business-critical strategy and investment conversations. Connects paid social media directly to commercial outcomes like growth, profitability, and market expansion. Steps into complex engagements to pivot strategies and unlocks growth through automation, data integration, and platform diversification.
Identify growth opportunities across existing clients, including platform diversification, creative transformation, measurement improvements, automation, data integration, and cross-solution collaboration.
Define the local strategic direction for paid social, aligning global priorities with local execution across all major social platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube. Act as a senior thought leader and sparring partner for internal teams, identifying capability gaps and driving training initiatives all while translating global paid social direction, platform priorities, and best practices into local adoption, client impact, and team behaviour. Elevate the quality of client roadmaps, audits, and QBRs by coaching teams to effectively communicate value to senior stakeholders.
Ensure cross solution/area collaboration by breaking down silos or blockers to integrate paid social into the wider client strategy and agency value proposition. Collaborate with media, data, strategy, and creative leaders to build holistic, cross-functional solutions. Solve performance limitations outside media buying by connecting paid social to adjacent capabilities like AI tech, creative production, first-party data, and advanced marketing evaluation (MMM, incrementality).
Being a key platform partner by building and maintaining senior relationships with major platform partners (Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, YouTube, and other relevant media and technology partners) to keep the organization ahead of ecosystem shifts, automation, and measurement changes. Secure commercial value through exclusive betas, funding, and incentives. Act as the local bridge between partners, client teams, and global functions to translate platform innovations into meaningful client recommendations.
