Job Title: Paediatric Specialist Centre Speech and Language Therapist – Hounslow
Banding: Band 6/7
Location: Hounslow
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £24.00–£27.50 per hour
Working Hours: Full-time or Part-time
Contract Type: Temporary / Contract

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join specialist centres across Hounslow, supporting school-aged children (4–18 years) with complex Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN). These centres are attached to mainstream schools and cater to children with a wide range of needs, including Autism, Visual Impairment, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, Moderate Learning Disabilities, and Physical Disabilities.

This temporary contract is ideal for therapists with at least two years’ experience working in schools who want to make a tangible difference in the lives of children with complex needs. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams (MDT) including Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Paediatricians to assess, plan, and deliver bespoke therapy interventions that help children achieve their communication and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Provide assessment and therapy for children and young people with SLCN and complex needs in specialist centres.
  • Manage a caseload of school-aged children (4–18 years) across multiple centres.
  • Develop and deliver individualised therapy plans, including interventions using AAC where appropriate.
  • Collaborate closely with teaching staff and MDT colleagues to support holistic care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and professional clinical records.
  • Contribute to centre meetings, reviews, and multidisciplinary planning.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
  • At least two years’ experience working with children and young people in schools.
  • Experience with AAC is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A proactive and reflective approach to professional development.
