Job Title: Paediatric Occupational Therapist - Specialist Practitioner
Location: Tameside
Pay Rate: Up to £30 per hour – negotiable depending on experience
Contract Type: Full-time
Service Area: Children & Families

Liquid Personnel is recruiting a Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Specialist Practitioner for its client based in Tameside, to deliver specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people with disabilities, complex health needs, chronic illness, and social or housing needs across the region.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Assess the needs of disabled children and young people, including those with chronic and terminal illness, within the community
  • Provide specialist input in complex and highly complex cases, formulating and implementing intervention plans to reduce the impact of disability and ill health
  • Ensure the voice of the child/young person and their families is central to all assessments and interventions
  • Work in a multi-agency capacity with professionals from Tameside MBC, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust, and other agencies
  • Provide professional advice on disability equipment, adaptations, and manual handling
  • Conduct manual handling and ergonomic risk assessments, developing handling plans to reduce risk for informal carers
  • Manage a complex caseload autonomously, demonstrating high-level problem solving and clinical reasoning skills

Qualifications & Experience:

To be successful in this role you must have,

  • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Proven experience in paediatric occupational therapy, particularly with children with disabilities and complex needs
  • Strong understanding of manual handling, equipment provision, and housing adaptations
  • Excellent communication and multi-disciplinary working skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage complex cases
