
Job Title: Paediatric Mainstream Secondary School Speech and Language Therapist
Banding: Band 6/7
Location: Wanstead, East London
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £32.00–£39.00 per hour
Working Hours: Part time – 1 day per week
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join a mainstream secondary school in Wanstead, East London.
This role involves supporting students within a mainstream educational setting, helping them to develop their speech, language, and communication skills to enhance their academic progress and overall wellbeing.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Band 6 or Band 7 therapist looking for a flexible, part-time position. You will play a key role in assessing students’ needs and delivering targeted interventions within a school environment.
In this role, you will:
Carry out speech and language assessments for secondary school students.
Plan and deliver targeted therapy programmes and group interventions.
Provide direct therapy to students with identified speech, language, and communication needs.
Work collaboratively with school staff to support students’ communication development.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional standards.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
Experience working with paediatric populations, ideally within a school setting.
Strong assessment and intervention planning skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
