Job Description

The Paediatric Hospitalist provides comprehensive inpatient medical care to infants, children, and adolescents. The role includes assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of patient care while ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to clinical guidelines.

• Provide round-the-clock inpatient care for paediatric admissions.

• Perform clinical assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and develop management plans.

• Respond to paediatric emergencies, rapid response calls, and code situations.

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (nurses, specialists, allied health).

• Communicate effectively with families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and progress.

• Document clinical notes, orders, and discharge summaries accurately and promptly.

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical standards, and regulatory requirements.

• Participate in quality improvement activities, audits, and morbidity-mortality meetings.

• Provide supervision and guidance to junior doctors when applicable.

• Support continuity of care including handovers and care coordination with other departments.

• Medical degree with valid license to practice.

• Completion of residency in Paediatrics; board certification preferred.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in inpatient paediatric care.

• Current BLS and PALS certification.

• Strong clinical judgement and emergency management skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
