QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field required.

· MHA, MBA or certification in specialty area or leadership preferred.

· 3-5 years’ related experience pre-operative and post-operative recovery care in a clinical setting required.

· Must have excellent attention for detail and the ability to make independent decisions regarding staffing, inventory, and related functions.

· Must possess working knowledge of requirements set forth by regulatory agencies (Joint Commission, State of Texas, and CMS)

· Must have the ability to communicate with all levels within the facility.

· Demonstrated excellent communication skills

· Ability for managing conflict in stressful conditions.

· Demonstrated excellent organizational skills and problem solving.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversees staffing and productivity of pre-op and PACU.
2. Reviews department performance and make changes as needed to improve care.
3. Oversees the development and execution of departmental procedures.
4. Assists HR manager with HR issues involving Director of Nursing where appropriate.
5. Provides professional development to staff members and conducts employee rounding.
6. Works closely with Medical Staff Directors for departments relating to projects and regulatory requirements.
7. Ensures appropriate resource allocation in supplies and equipment.
8. Ensures standards of care outlined by regulatory agencies meet requirements outlined by Joint Commission, State of Texas, and CMS.
9. Develops and implements continual process improvement projects for each unit.
