Purpose of the Position:

The Packaging Lead is responsible for overseeing the packaging operations in the plant to ensure the efficient, accurate, and timely packing of solar products. This position plays a critical role in maintaining quality standards, optimizing packaging processes, and leading a team to meet production goals while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

- Oversee daily packaging operations, ensuring all products are packed according to specifications, quality standards, and deadlines.

- Coordinate with production, quality assurance, and logistics teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely shipment of products.

- Train, supervise, and provide guidance to packaging team members, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and company policies.

- Conduct regular inspections of packaging materials, equipment, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards.

- Monitor inventory levels of packaging materials and coordinate with procurement to prevent shortages or delays.

- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, coordinate maintenance, and ensure proper upkeep of packaging machinery.

- Implement and optimize packaging processes to improve efficiency, minimize waste, and reduce costs.

- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on packaging progress, productivity, and any operational challenges.

- Act as a point of contact for resolving any packaging-related issues or discrepancies.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or GED required

- 0-2 years of experience in packaging, manufacturing, or production, preferably in a leadership or supervisory role.

- Experience in solar manufacturing or a similar industry is a plus.

Required Skills

- Strong understanding of packaging processes, equipment, and materials.

- Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a fast-paced environment.

- Proficiency in using packaging machinery and tools.

- Knowledge of safety and quality standards in manufacturing (e.g., OSHA, ISO, or similar).

- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Desired Skills

- Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.

- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and inventory management software.

- Understanding of solar panel manufacturing processes and terminology.

- Knowledge of sustainable packaging practices.

The range for this position is ​$28.00 hourly rate - $30.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
