JOB SUMMARY:
The Packing Lead is responsible for leading and supporting Packing Associates to ensure all outbound orders are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely. This role oversees daily packing operations including unloading Locus robots, scanning and verifying labels, sorting cartons, applying pick tickets, and preparing orders for shipment on the main automated conveyor line. The Packing Lead is expected to motivate and guide team members to achieve D.C. Outbound Operations’ mission: to ship every order complete, on-time, and error-free, while maintaining quality, safety, and team engagement standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (includes other duties as required):
- D.C. Outbound Operations expects a Packing Lead to be self-motivated and require minimal supervision.
- Lead, coach, and motivate Packing Associates to maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and productivity.
- Lead with discipline and consistency by setting clear expectations and holding team members accountable to packing and safety standards.
- Oversee daily packing operations including unloading Locus robots with totes or cartons, scanning and verifying labels, sorting by box size, and applying pick tickets to shipping cartons.
- Ensure all packed orders are verified for accuracy, packaged correctly, labeled properly, and inducted onto the main automated conveyor line.
- Monitor packing quality by performing audits, identifying errors or trends, and ensuring corrections are made prior to shipment.
- Ensure team members properly identify garments requiring bagging and ensure all cartons delivered by robots are taped and prepared at their designated stations.
- Support and enforce Momentec Brands’ safety standards, ensuring safe work practices and proper use of equipment and PPE.
- Communicate packing issues, shortages, system errors, or quality concerns to the direct supervisor and collaborate with Inventory Control and other departments as needed.
- Become proficient in warehouse technology including handheld scanners, tablets, conveyor systems, and Locus robots, and assist team members with system-related questions.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and cross-training of Packing Associates to support operational flexibility.
- Direct team members throughout the shift to different packing stations or other DC functions as business needs change.
- Support multiple DC functions as needed, including replenishment, receiving, picking, truck loading, box building, and packing audits.
- Ensure packing areas remain clean, organized, and audit-ready at all times.
- Promote a positive, high-energy work environment through daily communication, engagement, and teamwork.
- May be required to work different shifts or schedules based on operational needs.
- Other duties may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as deemed consistent with Distribution Operations objectives.

- High School diploma or GED preferred.
- Lead experience is preferred.
- Must be safety conscious and follow procedures put in place for operating man-up equipment.

- Must show flexibility and a willingness to work in other areas of the warehouse to support business operations as needed.

- Overtime may be requested during peak seasons.
