QProducts and Services, part of the Lanco Group of Companies, is growing and adding a 2nd Shift! We’re looking for Packaging Machine Operators to join our team.

2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Position Summary

The Packaging Machine Operator prepares and operates packaging equipment, including rollpack and smashing machines. This position stages products, threads film, programs machine presets, passes quilts through the machine, handles and packages quilts, scans products using the QuiltTracker app, and performs routine troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.

Essential Duties:

  • Prepare the packaging machine by staging the correct product, threading the film, programming the appropriate presets, and completing required paperwork
  • Operate the rollpack or smashing machine and adjust settings as needed to maintain proper machine performance
  • Pass quilts through the machine and monitor operations for proper function
  • Flip quilts inside out and prepare them to be rolled or smashed
  • Hand-unload rolled or smashed quilts and place them into boxes
  • When a box is full, print the master QR code and attach it to the box
  • Scan each quilt before rolling or smashing and use the QR code to record it in the QuiltTracker app
  • Maintain master QR codes in the QuiltTracker app
  • Clear occasional machine jams and reload film rolls as needed
  • Detect machine malfunctions and support troubleshooting activities
  • Complete preventative maintenance by following manufacturer instructions and calling for repairs when required
  • Inspect equipment, structures, and materials
  • Maintain a clean work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What you Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1–3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in production and inspections; identifies potential defects or malfunctions before they become issues
  • Blueprint Reading: Competent in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Basic Math: Basic math knowledge, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of fractions
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English

Physical and Environmental Elements

This is a production classification, and employees work indoors and outdoors (in all seasons) with exposure to noise, chemicals, heavy equipment and machinery. Accurate hand/eye coordination is required. Finger dexterity is required, as well as hand strength, with the ability to grasp, lift, push and pull. Work involves considerable climbing, twisting, bending, squatting and kneeling for long periods of time. May lift parts that weigh up to 50 pounds. Need to have the ability to ascend and descend a ladder and/or scaffolding. Employees may be required to wear PPE to perform the essential functions of their job safely.

The final compensation offer may vary based on factors such as experience, education, skills, and location.
