Your Key Responsibilities

  • Plan packaging systems based on internal and external requirements and secures the implementation by defining respective application rules, TCO (total cost of ownership) validation and packaging process requirements for the steering of packaging systems.
  • Consolidate requirements for packaging systems and develop packaging systems based on those requirements.
  • Operate the Packaging Lifecycle Management, including planning of packaging introduction and packaging cost validation.
  • Validate and prove that packaging systems meet the requirements in terms of technical usability, specific application rules and TCO optimized usage.
  • Define packaging process requirements for the steering of internal/external packaging circles, order management and account management.
  • Provide application rules, specifications and standards for the usage of packaging systems.

  • Ability to design, calculate, and validate returnable and expendable packaging (KLTs, large load carriers, racks, trays, pallets, dunnage, protective materials).

  • Experience with material selection (plastics, steel, wood, corrugated, foam) considering durability, sustainability, ergonomics, and cost.

  • Technical coordination with:
    • packaging suppliers,
    • equipment vendors,
    • internal manufacturing, logistics, and quality departments.

    Ability to review and approve supplier packaging concepts, prototypes, and technical documentation.Conduct packaging trials, audits, and change management with external partners.

  • Experience in root‑cause analysis of packaging damage and logistics disruptions.Continuous improvement mindset (Lean / Six Sigma principles applied to packaging and logistics).

  • Ability to develop packaging aligned with:
    • CO₂ reduction targets,
    • waste minimization,
    • circular economy principles (reuse, recyclability).
