We are establishing a new Greenfield manufacturing facility in Tlaxcala, Mexico, which will serve as a flagship site within our network. As part of this initiative, we are seeking a Packaging Specialist who will play a critical role in ensuring the development, quality, and performance of packaging materials used in the operation.
The Packaging Specialist will ensure that packaging solutions are aligned with business needs, operational performance, and quality standards, while supporting sustainability and continuous improvement objectives. This role serves as a key integrator between suppliers, engineering, quality, and operations, translating technical and operational requirements into optimized packaging specifications that enable safe, efficient, and scalable manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
Lead the definition, implementation, and continuous improvement of packaging specifications, ensuring alignment with quality, safety, operational, and regulatory requirements. Develop and maintain critical‑to‑quality (CTQ) packaging standards in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and suppliers, ensuring packaging performance meets business needs. Establish and execute packaging inspection plans to verify compliance of incoming materials with defined specifications, identifying non‑conformities and ensuring timely resolution. Partner with packaging suppliers to drive performance improvements, including quality, technical capability, and alignment with company standards through regular reviews and collaboration. Support the development, validation, and implementation of new and alternative packaging solutions, focusing on safety, sustainability, cost efficiency, and operational performance. Define, validate, and update packaging specifications in relevant systems, ensuring alignment with operational requirements, regulatory standards, and supplier capabilities. Coordinate packaging validation activities, including laboratory and operational testing, ensuring solutions meet technical, regulatory, and performance expectations. Act as a subject matter expert in key packaging areas, providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams and contributing to global packaging initiatives and knowledge sharing. Troubleshoot packaging-related quality and performance issues, leading root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence. Support production and maintenance teams to optimize the interaction between packaging materials and equipment, reducing defects and improving performance. Drive value creation and sustainability initiatives related to packaging, including optimization, standardization, and alignment with global programs such as World Without Waste. Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements related to packaging materials and processes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including Quality Auditing, Packaging Experience and knowledge of Quality Systems and Packaging Technology. Basic understanding of KORE, KO quality standards and Policies related to Packaging Development area.
Technical Knowledge:
General knowledge of statistics (parametric and non-parametric methods, group comparison)
