The Opportunity

At Puig, we are looking for a Packaging & Product Testing Manager to lead a key technical area supporting product development, quality, and launch readiness across our product portfolio.

In this role, you will coordinate packaging and product testing activities across Fragrance, Skincare, Make Up and Home, ensuring that new developments are assessed with the right level of technical rigor, consistency and reliability.

You will work closely development teams, anticipating risks in strategic launches and support fact-based technical decisions.

What you'll get to do

  • Lead the definition and follow-up of packaging and product testing plans for new developments, ensuring alignment with project needs, quality expectations and business priorities.
  • Oversee mechanical, chemical, functional and compatibility testing of packaging components and finished products throughout the homologation process.
  • Support the identification and assessment of potential technical risks during product development and launch preparation.
  • Provide technical input and recommendations to Packaging, Formula, and other stakeholders, contributing to clear and consistent decision-making.
  • Support cross-functional areas such as Quality, Outsourcing, and Industrialization with testing-related needs and technical assessments.
  • Coordinate testing activities across different product categories, adapting the approach according to project complexity, timelines and available information.
  • Drive the development and continuous improvement of testing methods, laboratory practices, documentation standards and internal workflows.
  • Lead, coordinate and develop the Product Testing team, supporting capability building, prioritization and team engagement.
  • Manage laboratory-related activities, including equipment availability, calibration follow-up and operational readiness.
  • Monitor department workload, priorities, budget and KPIs to support efficiency, service level and continuous improvement.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
  • Hands-on experience with packaging and/or finished product testing, ideally within cosmetics, perfumery, FMCG or a related industry.
  • Good understanding of packaging materials, product performance, compatibility and functional testing methodologies.
  • Experience working in cross-functional environments
  • Experience supporting product development processes, homologation activities or launch preparation.
  • Previous experience developing or improving testing methods, laboratory workflows or technical documentation will be valued.
  • Experience coordinating teams, managing priorities or supporting people development will be a plus.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, statistics will also be valued.

Education

University degree in Chemistry, Material Science, Industrial Engineering, Packaging Engineering or a related scientific or technical field.

Languages

  • Spanish: Fluent
  • English: Fluent
  • French: Intermediate level is a plus
