Job Description

Packaging Product Manager

LINC Systems – West Field, IN or Midwest (Hybrid)

LINC Systems is a growing national B2B distributor specializing in industrial, construction, fastening, and packaging solutions. We combine deep product expertise, strong supplier partnerships, and an expanding digital platform to help our customers improve productivity and lower total costs.

We are looking for a Packaging Product Manager to take full ownership of our packaging portfolio. In this high-impact role, you will serve as the internal subject-matter expert and drive profitable growth by positioning packaging solutions as a natural, high-value extension of our fastening business. You will bridge suppliers, sales teams, marketing, and operations to create easy-to-sell offerings, enable the field, and increase share of wallet through smart cross-selling.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded product or category manager who enjoys translating product knowledge into revenue results and working closely with field sales teams.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Portfolio Ownership

  • Own product positioning, value propositions, and competitive differentiation for the full packaging portfolio (consumables and equipment).
  • Partner with suppliers to stay ahead of innovation, materials, pricing trends, and new applications.
  • Lead pricing strategy, margin management, portfolio rationalization, and successful new product introductions.

Sales Enablement & Cross-Sell Execution

  • Act as the go-to packaging expert across the organization.
  • Develop high-impact sales tools, training materials, application guides, and comparison resources that make it easy for reps to sell.
  • Work hands-on with fastening sales leaders and field reps to embed packaging into existing sales motions and uncover cross-sell opportunities.
  • Build bundled solutions that combine packaging with fastening assortments to deliver better customer outcomes and higher attachment rates.

Market Insight & Collaboration

  • Gather voice-of-customer and sales feedback to identify unmet needs and drive continuous improvement.
  • Monitor competitive activity and market trends in industrial packaging.
  • Partner closely with Marketing on demand generation and content, Operations on supply reliability, and Finance/Leadership on forecasting and growth initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

  • Increased packaging revenue, margin, and attachment rates — especially within fastening accounts.
  • Higher cross-sell penetration and strong adoption of packaging tools by the sales team.
  • Successful launches of new offerings that move the needle on profitable growth.

Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience driving growth in packaging, industrial products, or B2B distribution.
  • Hands-on background with packaging consumables and equipment.
  • Proven track record in product management, category management, or commercial/sales enablement roles.
  • Demonstrated success in coaching or enabling sales teams (ideally in the field).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to own pricing, portfolio decisions, and strategic execution.
  • Comfortable balancing big-picture strategy with disciplined, results-oriented execution in a fast-paced environment.
  • Estimated 50% travel nationwide, primarily in the Midwest/East Coast.

Preferred Attributes

  • Customer- and sales-oriented mindset.
  • Analytical, organized, and collaborative.
  • Thrives in a matrixed organization where you can see direct impact from your work.

Why Consider This Opportunity? This role offers genuine ownership of a strategic portfolio in a company that is investing in growth and digital transformation. You will have visible impact on revenue, work closely with sales in meaningful ways, and help shape solutions that customers actually value. If you enjoy bridging product strategy with commercial execution and want to play a key role in a growing B2B distributor, this could be a great next career step.

We offer a competitive compensation package (base + bonus), comprehensive benefits, and hybrid work flexibility.
