Job Description

We are currently hiring a Packaging Maintenance Leader at Sam Adams Cincinnati Brewery.

The Maintenance Leader is responsible for maximizing asset availability and reliability for assigned production lines. This role reduces unplanned downtime by applying proactive maintenance strategies, driving continuous improvement, and enabling production teams to identify and address defects early—before they lead to equipment failure.

What You'll Brew:

  • Owns the Breakdown Elimination, Defect Handling, and Maintenance Planning & Scheduling systems for assigned production lines.
  • Drives maintenance execution by supporting planning and scheduling with strong equipment knowledge and an understanding of key reliability losses.
  • Collaborates across functions to prioritize and execute planned and reactive maintenance, minimizing production impact and improving line reliability.
  • Leads cross‑functional root cause analyses for major downtime events and implements effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
  • Supports line teams during problem‑solving activities and provides technical expertise as needed.
  • Uses data‑driven analysis to identify reliability opportunities and improve overall line availability.
  • Partners with area owners and maintenance teams to develop standards and ensure consistent execution aligned with TPM principles.
  • Trains team members on machinery operation principles, identifies training needs, and helps develop training materials.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and routinely publishes maintenance metrics and KPIs.
  • Contributes to maintenance strategy development by defining preventive and predictive maintenance plans, equipment health needs, and critical spare parts requirements.
  • Promotes and works within a team‑oriented, Safety First environment.
  • Follows and enforces all safety, GMP, quality, and compliance procedures, including proper PPE use and LOTO.

What Ingredients You'll Bring:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (production, manufacturing) or equivalent technical experience.
  • 4+ years of leadership experience in production or manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience driving process improvements within Maintenance and Operations (TPM/TPS).
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to influence and drive positive change.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Minitab, and statistical analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to flex schedule to support all shifts when needed.
  • Experience in brewing, high‑speed packaging, or utilities systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial controls and electrical systems (PLCs, instrumentation, VFDs, motors).
  • Knowledge of CMMS platforms (SAP/AMMS preferred).

Level: 7IC

At the Boston Beer Company and in accordance with pay transparency laws, we are open about our salary ranges. For this role, the salary range is between $65,000 - $120,000 However, it’s important to note that where the person hired starts in this range is dependent on their related experience, skillset and location. Additionally, this position qualifies for a discretionary annual bonus based on company and individual performance.
